I love Halloween!

I made this mandala from two images, one of fall leaves, the other of a jack-o-lantern.

It reminded me of a bat right away, and if you click the image until it enlarges full screen, you can actually see many bat shapes… There’s so much in full view in life, but when we choose not to see it, that is when it becomes hidden.

Lunar Moth Mandala

I’ve always loved lunar moths, since the very first one I ever saw visited my back porch one night. That was a decade ago; when my daughter was still a baby. I took a beautiful photo of it. Unfortunately, it was a digital photo and with a computer mess up, it was gone.

Still my little family cherished that moment. We were very careful not to touch any part of his wings. He was so delicate and almost seemed to glow in the moonlight.

Today as I sat down to make a mandala, I thought, “What should I make it from?”. And there Lunar Moth popped into my mind…

Enjoy!
